Mindful Conversation

PEDAGOGY

MC uses action learning and experiential education in the approach to adult learning. This form of adult education uses developmental processes and mindful conversation, where learning requires action, as the basis of all learning programs.

This learning approach sees the facilitator as a learner as well as a teacher, the facilitator brings knowledge of the processes and the conceptual framework to assist participants in the development of skills. The facilitator models openness and provides a safe space to create the relationships that are necessary for this type of learning.

Knowledge is created by the learner’s reflection on their own experience and is deepened through conversation with others to discover their knowledge and experience. With greater clarity and connection with each other and the participant’s common and individual experiences the group is able to co-create new ways to address complex problems and create positive change.

Individuals are encouraged to take action in their personal and professional life as well as working collectively to build teams, networks and create innovative organisations.
